Reposts

A repost is when you see a post you enjoy and click the repost button to share it on your feed. Now all of your followers can enjoy the post, thanks to your signal boost. Think of it as sharing someone else's content to your own feed.

What is a Repost?

When you repost content, you're sharing it to your feed so your followers can see it. The repost will appear in your feed with the original content, and you can optionally add your own commentary.

  • The original content is preserved and attributed to the original creator
  • You can add your own comment or thoughts when reposting
  • The repost appears in your feed for your followers to see
  • It's a great way to share content you love with your audience

How to Repost

To repost a post:

  1. Make sure you're logged into LavishMade
  2. Find a post you'd like to repost
  3. Look for the repost button (two arrows forming a rectangle icon)
  4. Click the repost button
  5. A repost composer will open where you can add optional commentary
  6. Add your thoughts, comment, or leave it blank
  7. Click "Repost" to share it to your feed

Adding Commentary to Reposts

When you repost, you can add your own commentary:

  • Optional Commentary: Add your thoughts, reactions, or context when reposting
  • Express Yourself: Share why you're reposting or what you think about the content
  • Or Keep It Simple: You can repost without adding any commentary - it's completely optional
  • Your Voice: Your commentary appears above the original content in your repost

Feel free to add commentary, or not! Whatever floats your perfectly specific boat.

Limitations of Reposts

  • One Repost Per User: You can only repost a specific piece of content once
  • Original Content Preserved: You can't edit the original post content in your repost
  • Visibility Matches Original: Your repost will have the same visibility as the original content
  • Attribution Always Shown: The original creator is always credited in reposts

Post Attribution in Reposts

Attribution is important on LavishMade:

  • The original creator is always credited in reposts
  • No matter how many times a post gets reposted, the original creator is always shown
  • You can click on the original creator's name to see their profile
  • This ensures creators get proper credit for their work

Why Can't I Repost This Post?

There are several reasons why you might not be able to repost a specific post:

  • Already Reposted: You've already reposted this content - you can only repost something once
  • Visibility Settings: The post might not be visible to you (e.g., it's set to friends only and you're not friends)
  • Private Posts: Private posts (visible to self only) cannot be reposted
  • Content Unavailable: The original post may have been deleted or is no longer available

How Reposts Appear

When you repost content:

  • The repost appears in your feed
  • Your followers will see the repost in their feed
  • The original content is shown with your optional commentary above it
  • The original creator is always credited
  • People can interact with your repost (favorite, comment, etc.)

Deleting Reposts

You can delete reposts you've made:

  • Go to your profile or feed
  • Find the repost you want to delete
  • Click the delete option (usually in a menu or dropdown)
  • Confirm the deletion

Note: Deleting your repost only removes it from your feed. It doesn't affect the original post or other users' reposts of the same content.

Best Practices for Reposting

  • Add meaningful commentary when reposting to add value for your followers
  • Repost content that aligns with your interests and values
  • Give credit where credit is due - attribution is automatic but appreciated
  • Use reposts to share content you think your followers will enjoy
  • Don't repost everything - be selective and share quality content

Tip: Reposts are a great way to share content you love with your audience while giving credit to the original creator. Add your own thoughts to make reposts more personal and valuable for your followers!
