Photo Albums
Photo albums allow you to organize and share collections of photos on LavishMade. You can create albums, upload multiple photos, arrange them, and share them with your audience.
What are Photo Albums?
Photo albums are collections of photos that you can:
- Organize and group related photos together
- Share as a collection with your audience
- Link to posts and blog posts
- Tag with categories and interests
- Feature on your profile
Creating a Photo Album
To create a new photo album:
- Go to your photos page or profile
- Click "Create Album" or "New Album"
- Enter a title for your album (required, max 100 characters)
- Add an optional description (max 1000 characters)
- Upload photos to the album
- Arrange photos in your preferred order
- Add tags if desired
- Save your album
Uploading Photos
You can upload photos to albums in several ways:
- Single upload: Upload one photo at a time
- Mass upload: Upload multiple photos at once
- From existing photos: Add photos you've already uploaded
Photo requirements:
- Formats: PNG, JPEG, GIF, HEIC, HEIF
- Maximum size: 30MB per photo
- No limit on number of photos per album
System Albums
Some albums are automatically created by the system:
- "Blog Posts" album: Automatically contains photos from your blog posts
- "Posts" album: Automatically contains photos from your posts
- System albums cannot be edited or deleted
- Photos are automatically added when you use them in posts or blog posts
Organizing Photos
You can organize photos within albums:
- Reorder photos: Drag and drop to arrange photos in your preferred order
- Set cover photo: The first photo in the album is the cover photo
- Add captions: Add captions to individual photos
- Remove photos: Remove photos from albums (doesn't delete the photo)
Linking Photos to Content
Photos in albums can be linked to posts and blog posts:
- When you add a photo to a post, it's automatically added to your "Posts" album
- When you add a photo to a blog post, it's added to your "Blog Posts" album
- Photos can belong to multiple albums
- Deleting a photo from an album doesn't remove it from linked content
Tagging Albums
You can tag photo albums to help with discovery:
- Add tags when creating or editing an album
- Tags help others find your albums
- Tags can be categories, interests, or topics
- Tagged albums appear in relevant tag/interest pages
Featured Albums
You can feature albums on your profile:
- Mark an album as "featured" to highlight it
- Featured albums appear prominently on your profile
- You can feature multiple albums
- Featured albums are shown first when viewing your photos
Viewing Albums
Albums can be viewed:
- On your profile page
- On your photos page
- Through direct links to albums
- In tag/interest pages if tagged
Album visibility follows your profile privacy settings.
Editing Albums
You can edit your albums:
- Change the title and description
- Add or remove photos
- Reorder photos
- Add or remove tags
- Feature or unfeature albums
Note: System albums (Blog Posts, Posts) cannot be edited.
Deleting Albums
You can delete albums you've created:
- Deleting an album removes the album but not the photos
- Photos remain in system albums if they're linked to content
- System albums cannot be deleted
- Deletion is permanent - make sure you want to delete before confirming
Best Practices
- Organize by theme: Group related photos together
- Use descriptive titles: Help people understand what's in the album
- Add descriptions: Provide context for your photo collections
- Tag appropriately: Use relevant tags to help discovery
- Feature your best work: Highlight your favorite albums
- Keep albums updated: Add new photos to relevant albums
Troubleshooting
Common issues and solutions:
- Can't upload photos: Check file format and size limits
- Photos not appearing: Make sure upload completed successfully
- Can't edit album: System albums cannot be edited
- Can't delete album: System albums cannot be deleted
- Photos missing: Check if photos are linked to content in system albums
