Adding Video

You can add videos to your posts in two ways: by embedding videos from YouTube or Vimeo, or by uploading your own video files directly to LavishMade.

When creating a post, you'll see options for different content types:

Embedding Videos from YouTube or Vimeo

The easiest way to add a video to your post is by embedding it from YouTube or Vimeo. Simply paste the video URL directly into your post content, and LavishMade will automatically convert it into an embedded video player.

How to Embed a Video

  1. Start creating a new post
  2. Paste a YouTube or Vimeo video URL directly into the post content area
  3. The URL will automatically be converted into an embedded video player
  4. You'll see a preview of the embedded video
  5. Add any additional text, photos, or content you'd like
  6. Publish your post

Supported Video Sources

  • YouTube: Any YouTube video URL (youtube.com/watch?v=, youtu.be/, youtube.com/shorts/)
  • Vimeo: Any Vimeo video URL (vimeo.com/)

Tip: You can paste the video URL anywhere in your post content. The video will be embedded automatically and will appear as a playable video player in your published post.

Uploading Your Own Video

You can also upload your own video files directly to LavishMade. This is perfect for sharing original video content, moments you've captured, or videos you've created yourself.

How to Upload a Video

  1. Start creating a new post
  2. Click the video icon or video upload button
  3. Select a video file from your device
  4. Wait for the video to upload and process (this may take a few moments)
  5. You'll see a preview of your video once it's ready
  6. Add any additional text, photos, or content you'd like
  7. Publish your post

Video Upload Requirements

  • File Formats: MP4 or MOV files
  • Maximum File Size: 900 MB per video
  • Processing Time: Videos are processed in the background - larger videos may take longer

Note: Video uploads are processed through our video service, which may take a few moments depending on the file size. You'll see a progress indicator while your video is being processed. Once processing is complete, your video will be ready to view!

Adding Video to a Repost

When reposting content, you can add a video by pasting a YouTube or Vimeo URL in your repost commentary. However, you cannot upload a video file directly to a repost - only embed videos from YouTube or Vimeo.

Video Best Practices

  • Use Embedding When Possible: Embedding from YouTube or Vimeo is faster and doesn't require upload time
  • Optimize Your Videos: For best results, export videos in MP4 format at 720p or higher
  • Consider File Size: Larger videos take longer to upload and process
  • Add Context: Include text or captions with your video to provide context for your audience
  • Check Privacy Settings: Make sure your video's privacy settings match your post's visibility

Troubleshooting

My video isn't embedding

  • Make sure you're using a YouTube or Vimeo URL
  • Check that the URL is complete and correct
  • Try copying the URL directly from your browser's address bar
  • Some private or restricted videos may not embed - make sure the video is publicly viewable

My video upload failed

  • Check that your video file is MP4 or MOV format
  • Make sure your video is under 900 MB
  • Check your internet connection - large files require a stable connection
  • Try refreshing the page and uploading again
  • If the problem persists, try compressing your video or using a video embedding service instead

My video is taking a long time to process

  • Video processing time depends on file size and length
  • Larger videos take longer to process
  • You can continue editing your post while the video processes
  • The video will appear in your post once processing is complete

Tip: Videos are a great way to share moments, tutorials, or creative content. Whether you're embedding from YouTube/Vimeo or uploading your own videos, make sure to add context and captions to help your audience understand what they're watching!
