Following & Friends

LavishMade uses a friends system to help you connect with other users. When you're friends with someone, you can see their content, comment on their posts, and message them.

Sending a Friend Request

To send a friend request:

1. Go to the user's profile
2. Click the "Add Friend" or "Send Friend Request" button
3. The user will receive a notification about your request
4. Wait for them to accept or decline

Some users may have friend requests disabled, in which case you won't be able to send them a request.

Accepting Friend Requests

When someone sends you a friend request:

1. You'll receive a notification
2. Go to your friend requests page
3. Review the request
4. Click "Accept" to become friends, or "Decline" to reject the request

Once you accept, you'll both be able to see each other's content and interact with each other.

Declining Friend Requests

You can decline friend requests:

• Go to your friend requests page
• Click "Decline" on any request
• The requester will not be notified that you declined
• They can send you another request in the future if they want

What Being Friends Means

When you're friends with someone:

• You can see their posts and content (depending on their privacy settings)
• You can comment on their content
• You can send them messages
• You can see them in your friends list
• They'll appear in your feed

Managing Your Friends

You can manage your friendships:

• View Friends: See all your friends from your profile or friends page
• Remove Friend: Remove someone from your friends list
• Block Friend: Block a friend if needed (this also removes the friendship)

Friend Request Settings

You can control who can send you friend requests:

• Enabled: Anyone can send you friend requests (default)
• Disabled: No one can send you friend requests

You can change this setting in your account settings or privacy preferences.

Privacy and Friends

Friends can see content that's set to "Visible to Friends":

• Posts marked as "Friends Only" are visible to your friends
• Blog posts with friend-only visibility are visible to your friends
• Private content (visible to self only) is never visible to friends
• Public content is visible to everyone, including non-friends

Removing Friends

To remove someone from your friends list:

1. Go to your friends list or their profile
2. Click "Remove Friend" or "Unfriend"
3. Confirm that you want to remove them

Removing a friend:

• Removes the friendship
• They won't be able to see your friends-only content
• You won't be able to see their friends-only content
• They won't be notified that you removed them
• You can send them a new friend request in the future if you want

Friend Recommendations

LavishMade may suggest friends based on:

• Mutual friends
• Common interests or hashtags
• Similar content preferences

You can accept or ignore friend recommendations. You can also disable friend recommendations in your settings.
