Following & Buddies

LavishMade uses a buddy system to help you connect with other users. When you're buddies with someone, you can see their content, comment on their posts, and message them.

Sending a Buddy Request

To send a buddy request:

1. Go to the user's profile
2. Click the "Add Buddy" or "Send Buddy Request" button
3. The user will receive a notification about your request
4. Wait for them to accept or decline

Some users may have buddy requests disabled, in which case you won't be able to send them a request.

Accepting Buddy Requests

When someone sends you a buddy request:

1. You'll receive a notification
2. Go to your buddy requests page
3. Review the request
4. Click "Accept" to become buddies, or "Decline" to reject the request

Once you accept, you'll both be able to see each other's content and interact with each other.

Declining Buddy Requests

You can decline buddy requests:

• Go to your buddy requests page
• Click "Decline" on any request
• The requester will not be notified that you declined
• They can send you another request in the future if they want

What Being Buddies Means

When you're buddies with someone:

• You can see their posts and content (depending on their privacy settings)
• You can comment on their content
• You can send them messages
• You can see them in your buddy list
• They'll appear in your feed

Managing Your Buddies

You can manage your buddies:

• View Buddies: See all your buddies from your profile or buddies page
• Remove Buddy: Remove someone from your buddy list
• Block Buddy: Block a buddy if needed (this also removes them from your buddies)

Buddy Request Settings

You can control who can send you buddy requests:

• Enabled: Anyone can send you buddy requests (default)
• Disabled: No one can send you buddy requests

You can change this setting in your account settings or privacy preferences.

Privacy and Buddies

Buddies can see content that's set to "Visible to Buddies":

• Posts marked as "Buddies Only" are visible to your buddies
• Blog posts with buddies-only visibility are visible to your buddies
• Private content (visible to self only) is never visible to buddies
• Public content is visible to everyone, including non-buddies

Removing Buddies

To remove someone from your buddy list:

1. Go to your buddy list or their profile
2. Click "Remove Buddy"
3. Confirm that you want to remove them

Removing a buddy:

• Removes them from your buddies
• They won't be able to see your buddies-only content
• You won't be able to see their buddies-only content
• They won't be notified that you removed them
• You can send them a new buddy request in the future if you want
