Initial Status Options
When adding an item, you'll choose an initial status:
- Currently: You're actively reading, watching, or listening right now
- Want to: You want to read, watch, or listen to this in the future
- Finished: You've completed this item
You can change the status later by editing the item on your shelf.
Tips for Adding Items
- Use the search function to find items accurately—this ensures proper metadata
- If an item isn't found in search, you may need to check spelling or try alternative titles
- You can add the same item multiple times if you want to track multiple viewings/readings
- Add notes when adding items to remember why you wanted to check something out
- Set privacy appropriately—some items you might want to keep private
Tip: If you're adding an item you've already finished, you can set the status to "Finished" and optionally add a "Finished On" date. This will create a diary entry automatically, helping you build a complete history of your cultural consumption.
