Deep Dive Improvements: Sections & Preview Mode

Making your curated collections even more polished and organized
We're thrilled to announce two exciting improvements to Deep Dives that make it easier than ever to create beautifully organized research collections and see exactly how they'll appear to your audience.

What's New?
Section Breaks: Organize Your Collections Like Never Before
Deep Dives can now be organized into distinct sections with custom headings and descriptions. Whether you're building a comprehensive reading list, documenting a research project, or curating creative inspiration, section breaks help you tell a clearer story.

What You Can Do:
  • Add visual dividers between groups of content
  • Create custom section headings to guide your readers
  • Include optional descriptions that provide context for each section
  • Drag and reorder sections just like regular items

Perfect For:
  • Reading Lists: Separate books by theme ("Getting Started", "Advanced Topics", "Fiction Favorites")
  • Research Projects: Organize by methodology ("Background Reading", "Case Studies", "Primary Sources")
  • Creative Collections: Group by aesthetic or mood ("Vintage Inspiration", "Modern Minimalism")
  • Learning Paths: Structure content by skill level ("Beginner", "Intermediate", "Advanced")

Section breaks appear as elegant horizontal dividers with optional headings, styled in LavishMade's signature gold. They create visual breathing room and make even large Deep Dives feel organized and approachable.

Preview Mode: See What Your Audience Sees
Have you ever wondered what your Deep Dive looks like to everyone else? Preview Mode lets you toggle between editing your collection and seeing exactly how it appears to others, no editing controls, just the polished experience your audience will enjoy.

Why It Matters:
Before Preview Mode, owners saw drag handles, delete buttons, and "Add Item" controls that pushed content around and made layouts look different from the visitor experience. Now you can verify that everything looks perfect before sharing.

How It Works:
  • Click the "Preview Mode" button while viewing your own Deep Dive
  • All editing controls disappear to show the clean visitor view
  • Click "Edit" to return to editing mode with full controls
  • Your preference persists across page refreshes in the same session

Works Everywhere:
Preview Mode works across all Deep Dive layout styles:
  • Standard (full cards with rich content)
  • Compact List (grid-style posters)
  • Masonry Grid (Pinterest-inspired layout)
  • Flipbook (zine-style presentation)

The Vision Behind These Features
Deep Dives are all about intentional curation. They're not just link collections, they're personal research environments where you gather, annotate, and share your explorations of topics that matter to you.

Getting Started
Both features are available now on all Deep Dives:

To Add Section Breaks:
  1. While editing a Deep Dive, click "Add New Item"
  2. Select "Section Break" as the content type
  3. Add an optional heading and description
  4. Drag to position it wherever you want in your collection

To Use Preview Mode:
  1. Visit one of your own Deep Dives
  2. Click the "Preview Mode" button near the top
  3. Toggle back to "Edit" mode whenever you want to make changes
