In a vacuum, I love the ending to this film. In praxis, I am angry with it. I don't think it ruins everything that came before it, the way that some people do, but I do think that opting for exposition as flat as a flat earth, it can only ever be discussed in a flat way. It steals the limelight from a nuanced, socially urgent conversation and forces us to grapple with something far less important, even as it is more entertaining. And if *that's* the point -- I don't think it is -- then even from such a cynical perspective, the dark-humored satire serves not to open doors to daring reason, but to close them.

Trying to watch all the Oscar nominated movies in the next couple of months. This was WILD.
