Centered on excellent performances of a forgotten president & his arguably slightly less forgotten assassin (thanks to Stephen Sondheim), Death by Lightning is a striking (no pun intended) portrait of lost potential, during a time of lost potential, and the electric (I'm sorry) fervor of a country grappling with the pulls of ideals, power, and justice. I was not expecting to get wrapped up in this one when my partner started it on a whim. At only 4 episodes, it's a quick, very memorable watch.
