Listeners of my podcast over the past ten years are familiar with a phrase I coined, "The Moment of Pop". It describes the moment when a wrestling fan is emotionally moved by a pro-wrestling match. Their favorite wrestler hits a finishing move and scores a three-count, and so they "pop" or exclaim in joy.
The Moment of Pop is about more than the sound of joy or dejection though. It actually represents the magic of professional wrestling. In the exact Moment of Pop, a pro-wrestling fan is convinced what they're seeing is real - hence the almost involuntary exclamation. It's a beautiful moment where our souls are exalted. We're transcending the trappings of our mundane lives and experiencing the sublime.
I wanted to find the first time I used this phrase in my podcast. After some scouring, I located the episode (originally episode 7). I remastered and re-released it to be discovered by listeners old and new alike.
If interested, here's a link to it in Apple Podcasts. Enjoy!
