The birds were chirping, the sun hasn't even peaked through yet, and I was dreaming about my childhood home.
All the sudden I smell chocolate brownies. Ben & Jerry's chocolate brownie ice cream to be exact. I am then hit with an explosion. My toddler hit me in the face with a half-melted pint of chocolate ice cream he got out of the trashcan. I just sat up, covered in chocolate ice cream, and just started laughing. I probably scared my husband to death as he sleepily wakes up to a dark room but can vaguely see his wife "bleeding" and laughing hysterically to herself all while the child is missing from our bed.
I love when mornings start like horror movies.
Anyways, this got me thinking. I felt like maybe I'd share my thoughts with all of the other parents on Lavish Made.
Ask yourself,

Ask yourself,
What have you taken seriously lately that wasn't such a serious matter?
My answer - A lot of things. I have taken a LOT of things more seriously than they needed to be. Having a toddler is INSANE. It's really really hard to find the will to slowdown sometimes & just enjoy what's in front of you. As humans, I feel like we move at the speed of light and we forget OFTEN that we're just humans and not a ton of this shit matters.
I don't think we should play the blame game however. I just think we should all challenge ourselves to slow down & sniff the fucking roses and maybe eat em too.
I mean, how fucking funny to be woken up that way? It's a little inconvenient sure! But it's hysterical and now you have a funny story to tell. The world is crazy right now, it's insane, it's falling apart.
We can only do so much for ourselves.
Why not fill it with laughter and solution?
Hit in the face with a pint of melted ice cream?
Laugh. Say its okay. That's why we invented paper towels and multi surface cleaner. That's why we have running water in our showers.
That's why we have overly expensive soaps & shampoo.
It'll take you 10 minutes to clean it up.
Challenge yourself to
"React with laughter first, kindness second, and solution third"

Jesus. I really didn't mean for this to be some fucking Ted Talk, but I think it's important to voice. We were stupid kids once too.
React how you wish YOUR parents reacted. It's okay to slow down.
Take my advice or don't, I'm not verified in any way shape or form hahaha! I'm just a real human, a real mom, not an influencer mom, who wants to be as real and as raw as possible. I think people tend to appreciate that way more.
I'm drinking Topeca Coffee this morning from Tulsa, OK! It's GREAT!
I bought the Italian blend and it's SUPER smooth. I really dig the flavor notes. (S'mores, Cranberry but not fruity, tobacco)
I'm listening to "Pascal Pinon - When I can't Sleep" off of their Twosomeness album. It's the perfect album for an early morning with your coffee and thoughts. We plan on packing our first room today for the big move! I'm nervous but excited for a change. It'll be different for sure, but that's okay. It's okay to be uncomfortable. At least that's what I keep telling myself.
I'm going to try and limit my blogging to two posts a day.
We will see how long that lasts hahaha!
Fellow Lavish Made parents- let me know your thoughts in the comments Let's discuss!
I have to go wash ice cream out of my hair, so I'll hop back on later.
signing off for now!
