🎉 We've completely redesigned how comments work on LavishMade, and we think you're going to love it!
The Problem We Solved
You know that feeling when you're scrolling through a post and the comments section becomes an overwhelming wall of nested replies? The deeper the conversation went, the more unusable it became. We heard your feedback loud and clear.
What's New ✨
Collapse & Expand Threads
- Click the "-" icon to collapse comment threads you're not interested in
- Click the "+" icon to expand threads you want to follow
- Only comments with replies show these icons - clean and intuitive!
Contextual Reply Experience
- When you click "Reply," you'll see "Replying to [User]" at the top
- A "CANCEL" button lets you back out easily
- No more confusion about who you're responding to
Visual Hierarchy
- Each nesting level has its own color-coded border:
- Gray = Root comments
- Blue = First-level replies
- Green = Second-level replies
- Yellow = Third-level replies
- Purple = Fourth-level replies
- The colored lines make it easy to follow conversation threads
Smart Defaults
- Comments start collapsed by default - you only see the main conversation points
- Expand only the threads that interest you
- Much cleaner initial view!
Deep Comment Links
- When someone shares a link to a deep comment (like from notifications), all parent threads automatically expand
- The specific comment gets highlighted with a gold border
- No more "where did that comment go?" moments
Why This Matters
Great conversations happen in the comments. But when those conversations get deep, the old system made them impossible to follow. Now you can:
- Focus on what interests you - collapse threads you don't care about
- Follow conversations easily - visual cues show you the thread structure
- Never lose context - deep comment links work perfectly
- Reply with confidence - always know who you're responding to
Try It Out!
Head to any post or blog with comments and give the new system a spin. Click those "-" and "+" icons, try replying to see the contextual experience, and notice how much cleaner everything feels.
We're excited to see how this improves your commenting experience. Happy chatting! 💬
